OutiftStevie Rae didn't know why she had come to the church that beautiful sunny day. Smoothing down her skirt, she entered the large building. Since it was a Wednesday, and most were at their jobs, the church was nearly empty. Stevie Rae rubbed her arms with her hands instinctively. Normally, they would have been covered with sickly greenish and purple bruises, but she had covered them up with both stage makeup that she had bought recently at a muggle shop and a simple charm she had bothered to learn. She wasn't accustomed to wandering around unfamiliar places, nor was she accustomed to wearing short sleeves or a short skirt. It was unfamiliar, but nice.
Stevie Rae took a seat at one of the empty pews in a vacant corner of the church. Silently, she looked around. It was intriguing to her, to watch others and try to decipher what their lives were. She had become a sort of expert when it came to picking out the tiniest of clues on a person's body. A couple, around their fifties, walked, hand in hand. But the wife was looking hungrily at a younger man, and the husband was eying a young blonde. Stevie Rae shook her head. True love was hard to come by in this society, especially between couple and parent and child. She shook her head, thinking of her father's abuse when someone slipped into the seat next to her. Startled, she turned to see...

Emily, Catholic by birth, had never been particularly religious, but had decided she was going to stop by the church that Wednesday morning on her way to work anyways. Life at home had been anything but easy, her parents were incessantly fretting over her, for good reason, Emily had dropped her weight to a mere one-hundred and seven pounds, far too underweight for her over six-foot tall frame. But today she was not focused on her problems with eating, but with internal conflicts. She slipped into a pew, not paying attention to the fact that there was someone already there. Emily clasped the pew in front of her with bony, pale hands, perhaps now was the time to find the guidance she so desperately needed now.

Stevie Rae looked over to find a girl not much younger than herself. She was very tall, but far too skinny. She looked very out of place. Stevie Rae rubbed her arms absently, wondering what it was that was causing the girl such grief as to she was either starving herself or allowing herself to become incapable of keeping down food. Maybe she had issues too. Stevie Rae rubbed her arm a bit harder, rubbing away a bit of the stage makeup covering the sickly greenish bruises. Stevie Rae took no notice of them however.

The movement alerted Emily to the presence of someone else, causing her to jump. Her frail-looking hands still maintained a firm grip on the pew in front of her. She surveyed the girl next to her, she looked to be a bit older than herself, Emily thought that she looked familiar, but couldn't place her finger on where they would have met. "I'm sorry," Emily whispered, moving to select another seat.
